G. K. Chesterton

G. K. Chesterton
I believe in getting into hot water; it keeps you clean.
The way to love anything is to realize that it might be lost.
I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought, and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.
The aim of life is appreciation; there is no sense in not appreciating things; and there is no sense in having more of them if you have less appreciation of them.
Gratitude is happiness double by wonder.
To love means loving the unlovable. To forgive means pardoning the unpardonable. Faith means believing the unbelievable. Hope means hoping when everything seems hopeless.
Courage is almost a contradiction in terms: it means a strong desire to live taking the form of readiness to die.
