Dwight D. Eisenhower
Things are more like they are now than they ever were before.
The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is possible, no matter whether it is on a section gang, a football field, in an army, or in an office.
Humility must always be the portion of any man who receives acclaim earned in the blood of his followers and the sacrifices of his friends.
Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed -- else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.
In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.
A people that values its privileges above its principles soon loses both.
